PLC - HMI Programming

Programming

Staneco’s engineers have a wide range of experience in everything from PLC to HMI programming. There’s little we haven’t dealt with after more than half a century in business.

Founded in 1963, Staneco Corporation has designed and built systems to meet automation standards and specifications from around the world.

We know it’s vital to grasp the specialized vocabulary of the industry segment you serve, and our years of working with clients in myriad sectors has allowed our employees to become fluent in IEC-61131-3 programming languages such as ladder, structured text, function block and others from various PLC manufacturers.

Our engineers are highly trained, using the full spectrum of manufacturers in the industry, including GE, Rockwell, Schneider Electric and Siemens.

PLC and HMI Programming FAQs:

What is a PLC?

A programmable logic controller (PLC) or programmerable controller is an ruggedized industrial digital computer designed to control manufacturing processes like assembly lines, robotic devices and conveyor systems.

The difference between PLCs and other computing devices is PLCs are designed to operate in harsh conditions where dust, moisture, heat, cold and other severe conditions exist.

The most basic function of a PLC is to mimic the functionality of an electro-mechanical relay.

What is PLC Programming?

PLC programming involves the logic design, coding and testing of application software that controls the functioning of programmable logic controllers. PLC functionality has evolved over the years and now includes: sequential relay, motion and process control as well as distributed control systems and networking.

What is HMI Programming?

Human machine interface (HMI) represents the user interface with a computer or PLC. The input side of HMI involves things like, keyboards, mice and other hand or body-operated control devices, while the output side involves monitors, speakers and printers.
